BESIDES THE EXTERNAL MODIFICATIONS, DO YOU CONSIDER THAT YOU'VE DONE ANY INTERNAL, SPIRITUAL, MODS AS WELL?
I have been drug-free since I was fifteen years old. I am running again, and intend to become a vegetarian by the time I reach twenty.

DO YOU HAVE A RELIGION?
No.

YOU ARE RELATIVELY YOUNG, BUT HAVE VERY CLEARLY DEFINED IDEAS ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT. HOW LONG AGO HAVE YOU BECOME EMANCIPATED?
I am 18, and have been living alone since I was 16, but am not emancipated. I haven't finished my studies and am not financially independent.

ARE PEOPLE JUDGED BY THEIR APPEARANCE?
Yes, of course.

DO YOU CARE ABOUT THE OTHERS' OPINIONS?
I like to hear comments, of any kind. But if I agreed with everyone I would stop doing modifications.

IS EXTERNAL APPEARANCE THE MOST IMPORTANT?
It's also important... I try to maintain my balance :)

BESIDES THE FINAL RESULTS OF THE MODIFICATIONS, YOU SEEM TO ENJOY THE PROCESS. HOW IS YOUR RELATION WITH PAIN?
Yes, I find it all a lot of fun. I don't really like pain, and not everything hurts as much as it looks like. You can feel a *lot* of pain without doing permanent things to your body.

ANY REGRETS ?
Not making it to ModCon last year :( I hope to attend this year, and get facial implants.

ARE MODS PLANNED OR DONE BY IMPULSE?

Yes, each modification is planned. I took more or less a year to stretch my septum. My tongue took about the same time, and it's not finished yet. My circumcision took at least six months - getting a medical plan, setting up an appointment, getting authorization, etc.

YOU HAVE AN E-ZINE ABOUT MODIFICATIONS...
Having a web page is essential; it's your online address. You describe yourself in the page, put photos up, talk about what you like, what you listen to, etc. When I want to know something about a person I look at their personal web site. If I want to talk to them, I send e-mail.

ABOUT YOUR SITE: DO YOU DO EVERYTHING YOURSELF? WHAT DO YOU USE? WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THIS RECENT TREND OF BLOGS?
I edit and update everything myself, using Dreamweaver and Fireworks. I love blogs. I read about five daily and some people read my online diary too. All the pages are hosted generously by Matrix Internet, which offered space for BodyMods and took my personal site in too.

COULD YOU COMMENT ON THE RECENT INCREASE IN POPULARITY OF PIERCINGS AND TATTOOS?
Lots of people get stuff on impulse, especially in the summertime. But it's cool when somebody discovers that tattoos are much more than a dolphin on their ankle (or a tribal design on their arm), and that there are other places in one's body that may be pierced, besides their eyebrows.

HOW DO YOU SEE THE MEDIA'S PERCEPTION OF BODY MODS?

Most of the articles have numerous errors, like "piercings are dangerous" or "if you get a tattoo you won't be able to get a job". Still, the media helps to show that it's something normal, and not about a tribe, a movement, or some circus act.

HOW HAS THE INTERNET HELPED YOU FIND PEOPLE WHO THINK SIMILARLY?
Finding people that think alike is difficult. But the web-more specifically- BME and IAM - have helped me find people that have done similar modifications. That is great - you exchange experiences, talk about procedures, ask how it went, find out where to buy things, etc.

ANYTHING YOU WOULDN'T DO? SOMETHING THAT YOU HAVEN'T DONE YET BUT WOULD LIKE TO?
I don't intend to change my sex, become a circus act, or become any kind of animal. Right now, I am stretching my earlobes (I want to reach 1 1/2 - 2 inches). I also have a tattoo project for my arms and legs, and various subcutaneous implants (forehead, penis, legs), and some other minor things, (other piercings, etc.)

HOW HAS YOUR SPLIT TONGUE AFFECTED YOUR PERSONAL RELATIONS? HOW DO GIRLS REACT TO IT?
Lots of people don't like it, think it's some deformity, or think it was some accident. You don't kiss better because you have a split tongue. It's just another toy >:)
